As part of efforts to strengthen dialogue on the role of media in achieving sustainable development goals, former minister Dr. May Chidiac took part in the 21st edition of the Arab Media Forum, organized by Advisor Madi Abdullah Al-Khamees under the theme:
“Media and Sustainable Development… Partners of the Present – Allies of the Future.”

The forum was held in cooperation with the Ministry of Information at the MEA Training and Conference Center, under the patronage and in the presence of His Excellency President General Joseph Aoun. The event brought together a distinguished group of Arab leaders, policymakers, and media figures.

Among the notable participants were Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the Arab League; Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed, Minister and Head of the National Media Office of the United Arab Emirates; Minister of Information Dr. Paul Morcos; Minister of Technology and Artificial Intelligence Dr. Kamal Chahadeh; Member of Parliament George Adwan; and Syrian Minister of Information Hamza Al-Mustafa. The forum also hosted Saudi Ambassador Walid Al-Bukhari and Jordanian Ambassador Walid Al-Hadeed, along with a number of ministers, parliamentarians, and prominent Arab journalists.

The opening ceremony featured the honoring of several Lebanese journalists in recognition of their contributions and distinguished careers in the media field. The event underscored the vital role of media as a partner in advancing sustainable development across the Arab world.

It is worth noting that the Arab Media Forum, which is usually held in Kuwait, had previously honored Dr. May Chidiac and the late Ghassan Tueni in 2009 for their pioneering roles in promoting Arab media and defending freedom of expression.
